Atlanta Hawks

Last summer, the Magic did try to make a big free agent splash. They went after Paul Millsap on a max contract. He seemed like he would be a perfect fit.

Instead, he opted to stay in Atlanta for less years and less money per year. That is the power of being on a winning team.

The Hawks though seem to be at least thinking about reshuffling the deck some. They will face some steep competition to re-sign Al Horford and are reportedly shopping Jeff Teague so they can begin starting Dennis Schroder. It is a signal the Hawks may be looking to make some moves.

Their confidence in keeping everyone could be shown with what they do at the draft.

So if the Hawks are losing everyone and taking a step back a reset, including clearing away a big salary in Paul Millsap and giving him a chance to go somewhere better suited to winning could be in order. Or perhaps that is asking too much of a favor.

The Magic re-signing Evan Fournier replaced Oladipo and then they can go out and sign a center and start either Aaron Gordon or sign a small forward to play next to Millsap. There are plenty of possibilities, like there was last year when the Magic chased after him in the first place.

Orlando is looking for a star, someone who can lead the young group in the locker room and bring some winning experience. Millsap still fits that bill.
