player. 66. The Phoenix Suns have taken Marquese Chriss (No. 4) and Timothe Luwawu (No. 13) up to this point, so adding a dynamic shooter like Malik Beasley could really help them in their rebuild. Small ball seems to be the template to follow nowadays, so it never hurts to add more and more shooting ability and Beasley certainly has that. The Suns have 10 players on the payroll for the 2016-17 so they could easily keep all three of these 1st round picks, or if they’re enticed by a trade offer they have that flexibility as well.

Beasley is a one-and-done, 6-5 wing out of Florida State University who averaged 15.6 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field and nearly 39 percent from 3-point land. His offensive abilities are definitely his strong suit right now, but he’s shown inspired defense in spurts, so if he focuses himself on that end of the ball, then he could easily morph into a solid two-way player at the next level.

The Suns hit pay dirt last year drafting Devin Booker, so they can risk a selection on another shooter like Beasley. If Beasley is off the board and there isn’t anyone they’re in love with, I could easily see them selling this pick or grabbing a couple 2nd round picks in exchange for it.
