5. With Nets for Thad Young

If there’s one team that’s been actively making it known around the league that they’re looking to make a trade, you’re talking about the Brooklyn Nets. As you look at a team that finished with the third worst record in the NBA last season but that had previously mortgaged all of their assets in regards to the draft, they could most definitely use a trade that would get them into the draft and they know it.

And on draft day, all of the reports state that the Nets are in turn looking to trade one of their greatest assets that they actually have on their roster in forward Thaddeus Young. Young has shown on numerous occasions in this league that he can be valuable in the NBA. Moreover, the 76ers have two first-round picks in the early-to-mid 20s that they could potentially deal to try and land Young.

Of course, the 76ers are trying to clear out their frontcourt this offseason, so adding a player like Young might not make sense on the surface. However, I only really like this trade if they also find a spot to trade both Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to this summer. If that were to happen though, Thad Young is an established player that could make an impact if they were to reacquire him now that a new regime is in charge.
