1. DeMarcus Cousins subtweeting the Kings

DeMarcus Cousins made it clear on draft night that he did not like the strategy of his team, the Sacramento Kings. The Kings acquired the 8th overall pick in the draft during the lottery but traded it away to the Phoenix Suns. In return, the Kings got the 13th and 28th overall pick, a 2020 second-round pick and the rights to Bogdan Bogdanovic. With the 13th overall pick, the Kings selected Georgios Papagiannis out of Greece.

Apparently this was much to the dismay of Cousins. He quickly went to Twitter and voiced his displeasure.

Cousins didn’t seem to like the pick very much, no surprise there. Cousins has always been a player to disagree and argue things that the Kings’ organization does. One may remember him not getting along with former NBA Coach of the Year George Karl.

In a way, Cousins may be right. The Papagiannis pick was a bit of a head-scratcher, especially for a team with a proven NBA center in Cousins. The team may have been smarter to have gone with Denzel Valentine, who was drafted with the very next pick or Henry Ellenson, the promising young talent out of Marquette.

With this not being Cousins’ first incident speaking out against the team, it will be interesting to see how the Kings handle this. Keep an eye open for word on the continuing saga or Cousins vs. the Sacramento Kings.
