Portland Trail Blazers – Bombs away

Shooting is very important in today’s NBA, and the Blazers already have a ton of it. Damian Lillard is perhaps the second-best shooter in the NBA (hello, Stephen Curry) at the point guard position, and C.J. McCollum is a lights-out option that starts alongside of Lillard while also providing depth with ball-handling. Elsewhere, Allen Crabbe is a developing stud with the jumper, and while he is a restricted free agent, Portland has every reason to keep tabs on him for the long-term.

Now, imagine Kevin Durant adding to this three-point barrage.

Durant’s shooting is not in question, as he provides unbelievable range with the length to get his shot off at any time in the game. No team, outside of potentially the Warriors, could match Portland’s shooting with Durant on board, and this would be an uber-elite offense from the moment in showed up in his new city.

In addition, the Blazers could spend additional funds to bolster the front-court, and with bargain contracts on Al-Farouq Aminu and Ed Davis in place, Portland’s rotation looks strong already. Durant would need to willingly accept a less than stellar national market, but if he could get past that, the Blazers would be highly entertaining and intriguing.
