Shortstop

High-Salary Option: Troy Tulowitzki-Toronto Blue Jays (3,800): Of all the Blue Jays, Tulo will be most comfortable at Coofs Field as he returns for the first time since the team traded him to Toronto last season.

He started this season dreadfully, but he has turned things around lately homering in three of his last six games while going 8-21. He’ll probably get a warm welcome back in Denver, but he’ll look to power the Blue Jays to a win taking advantage of the rarified air at Coors Field that helped him become such a star. ∗∗∗

High-Salary Option: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (3,800): Bogaerts went 1-4 with a run scored in Boston’s series finale loss to the Rangers yesterday.  He has now hit safely in five of his last six games and is 8-26 over that span.  He hasn’t homered since June 18, but he and the Red Sox should be able to get back on track tonight against Blake Snell and the Rays. Bogaerts is 11-28 on turf this season with a 1.021 OPS.  Those games weren’t at the Trop, but last year, he went 11-33 in Tampa.

In my opinion, he is still a bit under-priced for the most productive SS in fantasy points per game this season, so get him in the lineup if you’re spending big at the spot tonight. ∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Marcus Semien-Oakland Athletics (3,200): Semien has had an uphill battle trying to produce in the struggling A’s lineup, but he has produces good numbers lately hitting in four straight and going 9-23 over the last week.  He connected on his second homer of the last week yesterday and has 14 long balls on the season.  Semien is an interesting play tonight since he is 4-10 in his career against Jeff Samardzija of the Giants who he’ll get to face again tonight.

High-Value Option: Addison Russell-Chicago Cubs (2,900)Russell went 0-4 yesterday to stop a mini five-game hitting streak.  He had been 8-19 with a homer and two doubles during that run, and he’ll look to get back on track against Dan Straily tonight as the Cubs look to pile on their division-rivals in Cincinnati.

High-Value Option: Andrelton Simmons-Los Angeles Angels (2,400)If you have to go bargain shopping at SS, Simmons is a great option as he continues to work his way back from his time on the DL.  He looks good lately with multiple hits in three of his last four games while going 7-14 against the A’s this weekend with two walks, two runs scored, a double, and a stolen base. He has been at the bottom of the Angels lineup since returning but that should change if he keeps hitting. ∗∗
