3. Dallas Mavericks

When it comes to the real contenders for Hassan Whiteside’s services, the Dallas Mavericks are a team that is a serious landing spot for the Miami Heat center. They’re expected to meet with him as soon as free agency begins and after the disaster that was DeAndre Jordan last year, the Mavericks will look to get the deal done quick.

In Dallas, Whiteside is going to a stable organization that has always been committed to winning and taking care of their star players. They always haven’t had the best luck landing them, but Mark Cuban is an owner that players love because he takes care of them.

If the Mavericks can land Whiteside, it shows they are still committed to winning even with an aging roster and they’re not going to go the full rebuild route. They’re retooling and in a time of transition, but they have a strong chance at landing the Heat center.

If they can land Whiteside, it will go a long way in helping them remain a playoff team in a tough Western Conference. They’re also in a great position that they could go out and still go after someone like a Mike Conley too.

Dallas is definitely one of the favorites to land the big man.
