4. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are making the moves to try to become relevant in the Eastern Conference. It started when they nailed the draft pick of Kristaps Porzingis last year. Although the Knicks had a poor year and made a coaching change, they had pieces in Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony to build around.

Last week, the Knicks made the next move, as they acquired Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls and put their stock on him staying healthy and being able to help the basketball team on the court next season.

Now, the Knicks are expected to go after a center in free agency and there are plenty of options available to them. If the team could land Hassan Whiteside, then they would be onto something in the Eastern Conference and have to young big men to build around for a long time and two aging stars that are still big contributors.

It’s all about if Whiteside sees the Knicks as a fit and if the Knicks see him as one. There’s no doubt he has the skill set that they are looking for, but would he consider them an option?

Regardless, the Knicks should at least kick the tires and see if there is something there or not.
