3. San Antonio Spurs

As of now, the San Antonio Spurs are about $12 million under the salary cap, meaning they could acquire a few bench pieces or give a possible starter decent money. However, that cash could be allocated to just one player in Dwyane Wade.

The Spurs are quickly evolving from the team that fans have known over the past decade-plus. Tim Duncan is 40-years-old, Manu Ginobili is on his last legs, and Tony Parker is steadily declining. They are being supplanted by the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard, who are perennial All-Stars. Danny Green has even seen an increased role. But with San Antonio somewhat lacking at shooting guard, Wade might make sense.

Signing Flash could give them a steady, veteran presence that might be missed in Ginobili, who could retire. Wade can also still average around 20 PPG. While that probably won’t happen with the stars already in place with the Spurs, the Marquette alumnus would still be a solid piece to the lineup. He wouldn’t have to be the No. 1 option, which is probably best for him at age 34. Aldridge and Leonard could handle the primary work while Wade becomes the No. 3 or 4 guy. It might make the Spurs scarier than they were in 2015-16.
