The fit makes sense

Not many teams would make a 34-year old Dwyane Wade the centerpiece of what they’re doing while simultaneously assuring it’s not all on his shoulders (and more importantly at this point, his knees). The Nuggets would, and a quick glance at their roster finds how much Wade would make sense on this particular squad.

Lacking a dependable two-guard for years, the Nuggets suddenly have that issue squared away. Wade wouldn’t need to be the primary ballhandler all the time with Emmanuel Mudiay would take care of those duties, but he’d still be the number one crunch time option. Wade’s presence could also create more looks for Danilo Gallinari, assuming he can stay healthy.

Jamal Murray could learn from D-Wade and come off the bench to form a potentially dangerous second unit with Will Barton and whichever of the bigs doesn’t start. That’s enough firepower to make the Nuggets much more dangerous than the team has been as of late.

In Cleveland? Wade would be at best the third option behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, and would simply be a very talented role player. Denver gives him the chance to continue to be in the spotlight without overloading him.
