10. Bo Jackson Goes Deep

Bo Jackson will go down as one of the best athletes to every play professional sports. Playing in the NFL or MLB is hard enough to do with only one being the focus, but Jackson was a two-sport star during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

His most memorable moment in the MLB came during the 1989 All-Star Game in Anaheim. The American League entered the bottom of the first inning already down 2-0, but Jackson came up and hit a bomb to center field to lead off the bottom half of the inning. The home run sparked the AL side, ultimately resulting in a 5-3 victory.

Because of the devastating hip injury suffered as a member of the Oakland Raiders, this would end up being Jackson’s only appearance in an MLB All-Star Game. But because of his performance in the game, he was voted the MVP. This shows just how dominant he was in a short period of time, leading many to question what could have been if he only focused on baseball.

But even though Jackson’s All-Star Game magic was only for a single game, his performance still goes down as one of the best of all-time. Sometimes have a small sample of something makes it that much better and nostalgic for baseball fans across the nation.
