Pokemon Go servers crash for a fourth straight day

Since Pokemon Go’s launch in the U.S. on Wednesday, the game has been plagued by server crashes, which continued on Saturday.

Since Wednesday night, Pokemon fans across America have been able to fulfill the dream of catching Pokemon in the real world thanks to Pokemon Go and its augmented reality gameplay.

The only problem is that Pokemon Go‘s servers have not been able to handle the large volume of aspiring Pokemon trainers attempting to log on to the app.

For the fourth straight day, Pokemon Go servers have crashed. In addition to being an inconvenience to players who want to catch ’em all, there are other reports that the the crashes have caused people to loose all of their progress and have to start from scratch when the servers come back online.

According to ComicBook.com, the crashes tend to coincide with times of peak traffic around lunch time, or when the work day ends. Other players have also been reporting that the app crashes when they find rare Pokemon.

Niantic has promised that they are working on a solution to the server issues. In the meantime, they have halted the international rollout of the game, so countries other than Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S., will have to wait even longer for Pokemon Go‘s release, which already never had a clear timetable.

In some encouraging news, the servers are coming back online quicker every single day. On Thursday, the servers were down for most of the afternoon, but on Friday, they were back up within an hour or two.

None of these problems have stopped Pokemon Go from quickly becoming the most downloaded app in America – and Australia and New Zealand. Despite being free to download, it has also become the top grossing app as well.
