5. Houston Astros

After a slow start to the season, the young and talented Houston Astros have really started to play better recently. While they still trail the Texas Rangers by 5.5 games in the AL West, the Astros undoubtedly have the pieces in place to make a legitimate post season run.

That being said, they need to add some depth to their rotation. Hill is one of the few obvious starting pitchers who will likely be traded, so simple supply and demand tells us that acquiring him will not be cheap.

However, the Astros have a major league roster and farm system full of young players who would be of interest to the A’s. Out of all the teams specifically looking for starting pitching ahead of the upcoming MLB Trade Deadline, the Astros may be the one best suited to make a major move.

Considering Hill is simply a half-season rental, they are not going to give up a top prospect like Alex Bregman, but they could dip in to their next tier of prospects and it would not hurt their future much.

A strong team with a ton of resources and an obvious need for a starting pitcher, the Astros figure to be a major player for the services of Hill.
