NFC. North. Chicago Bears. 1. player. 57.

For Bosa to seize his untapped potential as a pass rusher in the NFL, he needs to be in a situation with a veteran coach and a franchise known, historically, for its defensive prowess. The Chicago Bears might be just that team.

Imagine if Bears head coach John Fox is somehow able to get Bosa and Leonard Floyd — the No. 9 overall pick  out of the University of Georgia — working together to give the Bears an elite pass rushing duo. Fox had that once, when he coached Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware with the Denver Broncos, and he’d probably love to have it again.

Though both Bosa and Floyd have high bust potential as NFL pass rushers, there’s a good chance both could benefit the other in the onset of their professional careers. Indeed, both played with talented defensive teammates at their respective Power 5 schools, which means they’re more than used to taking pressure off their fellow pass-rushers.

For Chicago to get back to being consistently competitive and shed the stigma of the mostly disastrous stint under offensive-minded skipper Marc Trestman, Fox has to make this a defense-first football team. He’ll need more time to turn the Bears around, but he’ll need the talent first.

Whatever his baggage, Bosa is nothing if not a potentially franchise-altering force.
