Keenan Allen-San Diego Chargers

It’s easy to understand why fantasy owners have cooled on Keenan Allen a little this year. He was limited to just seven full games before a lacerated kidney (ouch) ended his year prematurely. He was on pace for 134 catches and 1,450 yards before his injury, and he is back this year with a new contract and plenty of motivation.

Last year, the Chargers stumbled to a 4-12 record with a ton of injuries especially to their receiving corps. Allen should get a little more help from free agent acquisition Travis Benjamin and a deep sleeper later on our list who has breakout potential of his own.

The Chargers throw the ball a lot and were second only to the Ravens in pass attempts last season. QB Philip Rivers has said he thinks Allen is one of the best receivers in the game, and if he’s healthy I think he’ll be a fantasy stud this season.

Currently, Allen is going off the board at the end of the third round as the 14th WR drafted according to fantasypros.com consensus ADP. I think he’ll be a breakout WR and finish in the top ten especially in PPR leagues where he could easily be one of the top producers.

Remember, last year he had three games with 12 catches or more. There will definitely be weeks where he’ll carry your team as long as all he and Philip Rivers stay healthy and continue their elite-level connection.
