Donte Moncrief-Idianapolis Colts

Moncrief is entering the mystical “third year” which is when many breakout WR have their big years. However, I think his jump this year will have more to do with getting his All-Pro QB back than any magical year number.

Last season, Moncrief was well on his way to a breakout year when Luck went down.  In Luck’s seven starts last year, Moncrief led the team with five receiving touchdowns and saw almost as many targets as T.Y Hilton.

He’s still working his way back from offseason toe surgery, but having Luck back definitely makes him a strong WR3 with WR2 upside this season.  He will have to share the targets with T.Y. Hilton and his massive contract as well as tight end Dwayne Allen and home-run-threat Phillip Dorsett. However, there have been positive reports about him all camp and he’ll either be the teams #1 target or #1a behind Hilton.

If Andrew Luck can shake off his disappointing season from last year, Moncrief could reap the rewards and become an every-week starter in fantasy football. He’s currently being drafted as the 32nd receiver off the board at the end of round 7, but he ranks in my top 30 based on his potential to be a breakout WR.
