5. Notre Dame Stadium

Texas Longhorn fans might get a little upset about this, but there is no bigger brand in college football than the independent juggernaut that is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Located in South Bend, Indiana, Notre Dame has built a true powerhouse of a football program since the early 1900s.

Notre Dame’s success on the gridiron has lasted generations, and Fighting Irish fans can be found all over the nation. From Knute Rocke to Ara Parseghian to Lou Holtz to current coach Brian Kelly, there is just something completely different about Notre Dame football.

Notre Dame Stadium is a football cathedral with minimal architectural distractions — just a passion for winning at an absurdly high level. With a capacity of 80,795, it’s not the biggest football stadium in the Midwest, but Notre Dame Stadium could definitely harbor ghosts from the Fighting Irish’s past.

Football and Catholicism blend seamlessly in South Bend. There is no greater example of that than Touchdown Jesus, who overlooks Notre Dame Stadium. He is most likely accompanied by Rockne, and The Gipper probably joins in once in a while, too.
