13. Malachi Dupre – LSU

If there’s a player that has numbers that might not stand out, but is just as good as other top receivers, it’s Malachi Dupre. The LSU receiver plays in an offense that favors the strong running game of Leonard Fournette. However, there are times when the big play becomes available down the field and Dupre is the man to go to for the Tigers.

If they want to keep Fournette fresh and not run him into the ground, the Tigers must target Dupre more this season. They started strong last year, before falling out of a playoff spot and going on a bit of skid. Balancing things out on offense should help the team go a longer way than they expected to.

Dupre isn’t the fastest receiver and that can hamper him at times in the SEC. But he is great at overcoming his speed deficiencies with size and power. The ability to out-muscle other elite defenders allows him to be the threat that he is for the Tigers.

If there’s a receiver in college football that should open eyes and improve his stats, it’s definitely Dupre. If all goes well that should happen, as the skid LSU went on last season was a rather unusual one.
