14. Shelton Gibson – West Virginia

Every great passing offense has that one weapon that gets downfield and is a real big play threat. Shelton Gibson is that man for West Virginia. While the Mountaineers didn’t have the greatest of seasons, although they won their bowl game, the offense started to finally come together at the end of the season.

Quarterback Skyler Howard is going to need Gibson to be the big play threat again, if the Mountaineers are to make strides in the Big 12. Luckily, with not too many other top receivers in the conference this season, Gibson could very well challenge other top receivers in the conference. He has the tools and talent to do so.

A lot of it is going to depend on how the Mountaineers come out of the gates, but if they can get him the ball, they’ll put themselves in range to score. Everyone saw it first hand at the Cactus Bowl against Arizona State.

The Mountaineers consistently were able to target Arizona State deep and Gibson was a big reason that they escaped with a victory. He’s primed to be one of the next big possession wide receivers in college football.
