Michigan (-40.5) over Hawaii

With ten picks on tap each week, some of them will inevitably be “chalk” selections, and this is the first of those. In fact, I absolutely disdain laying this many points in a week one game, and it stands in contradiction to my entire handicapping philosophy. Still, this is the worst imaginable spot for Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors had to fly back from Australia (where they were housed by California) and they get a Jim Harbaugh-led group that isn’t exactly predisposed to taking a knee in the second half with a big lead. The Wolverines have explosive talent offensively with Jehu Chesson, Jake Butt and others, and Michigan isn’t going to be shy about dominating here. I’m seeing a 55-7 type of score.

Missouri and West Virginia UNDER 51 points

Missouri’s offense was absolutely atrocious in 2015, and while it should be (marginally) better, this number remains too high. Yes, the Mountaineers can and will put up points on some opponents, but the Tigers have quality defensive personnel and this screams to me as an over-inflated number based on West Virginia’s offensive track record. I love Missouri unders and you should too.
