3. WR DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans

When you consider the numbers that the team’s first-round pick in 2013 put up one year ago, it’s scary to think that he could be even better this fall.

In his third NFL season, Houston wideout DeAndre Hopkins was simply magnificent. Only Atlanta’s Julio Jones and Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown (136 each) totaled more receptions than the three-year pro (111). His 1,521 receiving yards were also third in the NFL, while his 11 touchdown grabs were more than either of the other two stars managed in 2015.

As we know, the Texans used two of their first three draft choices in April on wide receivers Will Fuller and Braxton Miller, and we have already talked about the latter being a viable fantasy play this weekend. There are also high hopes for Fuller but for now there will be a wait-and-see take on the former Golden Domer.

This Sunday at Houston, Chicago Bears third-year cornerback Kyle Fuller will likely draw the assignment of handling Hopkins and he will provide a stiff challenge for the talented wideout. But the good moments will outdo the bad as the Texans’ receiver enjoys a big afternoon.

Keep this number in mind. Last season, Houston quarterbacks targeted Hopkins a combined 192 times – including 11 or more times in all but three games. That could change a little if either of the Millers (Braxton or Miller) takes away some of those opportunities. But it’s hard to believe it will change that much with new quarterback Brock Osweiler, who will be getting some sound advice from head coach Bill O’Brien.
