Team of the Week: Texas A&M Aggies

Last week, the Texas A&M Aggies won an overtime thriller against the UCLA Bruins, 31-24. Many wondered just how good the Aggies were in Week 2. Could Texas A&M make a statement against a small HBCU school like Prairie View A&M on Saturday?

The Aggies came out guns a-blazing and crushed Prairie View A&M, 67-0. Texas A&M was the only school in the SEC to pitch a shutout in Week 2. The Aggies were the only ranked Power 5 team to shut out their opponent. Only Houston joined them in keeping their opposing scoreless in Week 2.

With the SEC not looking as dominant as usual, the Aggies have probably been the most impressive team in back-to-back weeks. The Alabama Crimson Tide also look incredible in the SEC West but failed to cover the spread against Western Kentucky on Saturday.

Texas A&M seems to have a great pass rush led by defensive end Myles Garrett and the rest of the John Chavis Aggies defense. With Oklahoma transfer quarterback Trevor Knight looking like one of the best signal callers in the SEC in the early part of the season, Texas A&M might be a College Football Playoff contender in the deep SEC West.
