College Football Rankings 2016: Week 4 AP Poll winners and losers
Loser: Florida State Seminoles (No. 2 down to No. 13)
Losses happen in college football. Even the best teams, like last year’s national title-winning Crimson Tide, lose in tough games along the way, but there’s still a chance to make it to the playoff. However, a 63-20 defeat at the hands of a conference foe might be as crushing a blow as there is to title hopes .
Florida State traveled to Louisville, hoping for a good, evenly-matched contest between a redshirt freshman star, Deondre Francois, and the nation’s best dual-threat and Heisman Trophy race leader, Lamar Jackson. Heck, throw in Dalvin Cook and you have a contest with multiple Heisman candidates and a must-see matchup.
Francois ended up with a forgettable game after he let his team get down by too much early on and he couldn’t bring it back like he happened to do against No. 11 Ole Miss to open the year. Louisville stepped on the gas pedal and never let up, leading to an early exit for the young dual-threat and a game he wants back.
The Seminoles might be outside of the playoff race looking in for the rest of the year after a 63-20 loss, dropping them from No. 2 in the AP Poll all the way to No. 13.
Can Jimbo Fisher lead his team on a miraculous run to end the year?
