Loser: LSU Tigers (No. 18 to unranked)

Is the Les Miles era in Baton Rouge over with? It might just be after a difficult loss at the hands of the Auburn Tigers on Saturday night. Though not a completely embarrassing loss, Auburn was bound to beat a ranked team at home eventually and it did so in controversial fashion.

LSU had the game won, 19-18, after Danny Etling rolled to his right and threw a strike in the corner of the end zone with no time left. The Tigers were celebrating a huge last-second victory at Auburn, but the officials had to review the play, just in case.

The No. 18 team in the country looked like it escaped with a huge win on the road, threatening to even move up in the AP Poll, but the review was over and the referees made a shocking revelation. Etling didn’t get the snap off in time as the clock ticked from one second to 0:00 and the game was over.

Miles was shocked and his team knew that this might just be the nail in the coffin for the veteran head coach. LSU is now 2-2 on the season and the rankings won’t mean much from this point forward unless the Tigers can win out.

Dropping out of the rankings heading into conference play basically spells doom for any hope of a playoff.
