Auburn’s biggest test pre-Alabama is this week against Arkansas. The Tigers are better than most of us had anticipated but haven’t really had that one big conference win. Unless you count LSU. Regardless of the result, it’s clear that Gus Malzahn has bought himself some more time at Auburn.

The offense is scoring points and getting in a rhythm and the Tigers are still a threat in the SEC West, their next two games are against Arkansas and Ole Miss so a lot can change but for now, the Tigers are doing just fine.

It’s never a dull moment for the Razorbacks and Rebels when they get together and Saturday’s game is added to their history with each other. The offense went toe to toe with Ole Miss for four quarters and almost went to overtime if it wasn’t for that unbelievable fumble by Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly.

Up next for the Razorbacks is Auburn in a game that would give us a better indication of both teams. We know that Arkansas can slug it out with the SEC’s best but just one win against Ole Miss is all they’ve got to show for it. Losses against Alabama and A&M remain this team’s albatross.
