42. . Quarterback. Notre Dame. DeShone Kizer. 2. player

Like many teams who will be drafting this high, the San Francisco 49ers have many holes in their roster. Depending on where they select, the 49ers could go in many different directions. However, in this scenario, taking quarterback DeShone Kizer is a no-brainer.

Kizer is arguably the best quarterback prospect in this draft class and would fill an immediate need for the 49ers. Chip Kelly and company simply cannot afford to move forward with the Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick situation at quarterback. They have to find somebody to lead this franchise into the future.

Kizer is a raw prospect, but he certainly has the talent to be their franchise guy. Kizer blends athleticism and arm talent extremely well, while also showing both poise and patience in the pocket. His accuracy is spotty at times but he flashes the ability to put the ball wherever he wants at times.

The Notre Dame product is far from perfect, but he undoubtedly has the ability to be an elite-level NFL quarterback.

The 49ers have needs all over the place, but nothing is more important to this franchise than finding a legitimate option at the most important position in football. If the 49ers are going to get out of this rut they have been in, they must find a legitimate option at the quarterback position.

Drafting Kizer would give them nearly unlimited upside at the position. That counts as a legitimate option.
