42. . QB. Clemson. Deshaun Watson. 2. player

Colin Kaepernick was supposed to step in for Blaine Gabbert and provide a spark for the San Francisco 49ers this season. However, he appears to be getting worse every week, and is obviously not the team’s future at the quarterback position. The 49ers need a new face to lead the team under center, and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson may just be that guy.

Watson’s skill set is perfect for what head coach Chip Kelly likes to do offensively, and he is athletic enough to make plays in his system. Watson has played in big games his whole career, and will likely be unfazed by the pressure of playing in the NFL. He has the arm ability to make all the throws, and can go up-tempo if he needs to.

One look at Watson and you can see the kind of talent that made Russell Wilson so successful in his NFL career. He started the season off slow, but he has returned to be one of the best signal callers in college football. Clemson may be headed towards another National Championship Game, which should once again put Watson on display.
