5 scariest players in college football
By Roje Smith
3. Myles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M Aggies
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 262 pounds, Myles Garrett is the prototypical pass rusher that the NFL covets. Unfortunately for his current opponents, he is still in college and wreaking havoc all over the field.
Some fans, especially those of the Crimson Tide, may point out that Garrett was held at bay by offensive tackle Cam Robinson. While that may be somewhat true, it’s important to note that Garrett was playing on a bad ankle. Once he moved to the interior of the defensive line, his disruptive ways rose to the surface. One can only imagine what was in store for Alabama if he was 100-percent healthy.
Along with his excellent size, length and motor for the defensive end position, Garrett has outstanding speed and agility. His spin move is more than effective at shedding blocks and it leads to him destroying the opposing quarterback. He is truly a complete player and double teaming him is an exercise in futility. It simply won’t work.
Classic horror movies usually feature a villain that relentlessly chases or stalks his victims. Freddy Kruger and Michael Myers are two names that come to mind with those frightening situations. We might as well add Myles Garrett’s name to that list as well. He is the scariest pure defensive player in the country.
