Like Baylor and Nebraska, Florida suffered a damaging loss this past weekend but they still have a lot to play for and have to erase this game out of their memory rather quickly. Up next for Florida are two games that could make or break the Gators chances in the SEC East. Next week Florida hosts a South Carolina team that has gotten better as the season has gone along then the week after Florida travels to LSU as a makeup date for the postponed game earlier in the season.

While the remain in the hunt for a SEC East title, Tennessee and Georgia still have a punchers chance.

Florida State almost suffered the same fate as their in-state rivals this past weekend but the Seminoles survived at NC State this past weekend. Florida State still has a shot at getting an at-large bid into the New Year’s Six but they’ll need some help. One of the other questions is regarding FSU coach Jimbo Fisher’s chances he’s headed to LSU in case that job comes open. Perhaps those talks have resulted in FSU’s iffy play over the last month or so.
