Previous: . San Francisco 49ers. 31. team. 42. Somehow the 49ers were able to hold on in the first half and keep this a close game, but the floodgates broke open when the defense had its hands on its hips. The defense could not contain Drew Brees and Michael Thomas, who connected multiple times for a touchdown. Even Mark Ingram took advantage both in the air and on the ground by reaching the end zone just a week after being benched. Colin Kaepernick helped lead a 20-point first half, but came up small late. Throwing an interception to Craig Robertson didn’t help either. Chip Kelly’s schemes have been proven to no longer be myths, and are officially busts.
Next Week: After seven consecutive losses, Chip Kelly takes his team down to Arizona to face the Cardinals. Bruce Arians’ team is coming off their bye week, and will look to have John Brown and Michael Floyd healthy. This game could spell a big day for Carson Palmer if he’s on the field for 40 minutes with his playmakers.

Playoff hopes: San Francisco is looking at its third straight season with no playoff appearances after going to three consecutive NFC Championship games. Colin Kaepernick is awful, and his distractions are not helping this team. Time to start looking at some college games for players such as Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky, or Brad Kaaya.
. 1-7
