The last-place Jaguars dropped their third consecutive game and continued to have problems holding onto the football. The team rolled up an impressive 449 total yards at Arrowhead Stadium in the five-point loss. That included 205 yards rushing – 107 of that by running back Chris Ivory. But he also lost a crucial fumble in the end zone on the way to scoring a touchdown. It was one of four turnovers by the disappointing team, who have now given up the football 17 times in eight contests. Blake Bortles threw for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns. But he also threw a crucial pick as Jacksonville dropped to 1-5 within the conference.
Next Week: Gus Bradley’s troubled club hosts the well-rested Houston Texans, who are 0-3 on the road this season but were off in Week 9. This has been a lopsided series as of late as the Texans have won four straight and nine of the last 11 encounters between these clubs. Houston scored at least 30 points in each of their wins in 2016.

Playoff hopes: Unless this team makes a dramatic turnaround, especially on offense, the playoffs will elude the franchise for the ninth consecutive year. The defense is coming around and played well but Bortles and Bradley’s offensive unit have been erratic all year. Unfortunately, this team can’t simply get out of its own way at times.
. 2-6.
