Lamar Jackson and Jake Browning could have easily taken the No. 1 spot in our rankings this week, but we had to give it to the running back from Texas. Quietly, D’Onta Foreman has been dominating at tailback for the Longhorns, and on Saturday, he had a career-day against Texas Tech. Foreman rushed for an insane amount of yards, scoring three touchdowns, and is now leading the country in rushing.

Foreman carried the ball 33 times in the game, racking up 341 yards on the ground. The effort gave him his 10th straight game with over 100 yards rushing, and put him on the doorstep of history. If Foreman can rush for over 100 yards his next time out, he will break Earl Campbell’s school record for most games in a row eclipsing the century mark. It would be a pretty nice feather in Foreman’s cap.

Not only has he rushed for over 100 yards in every game this season, but his 341 yards gave him his fourth game this season over 150. In his last two games, Foreman has rushed for 591 yards, while racking up five touchdowns on 65 carries. To say he is carrying the load would be an understatement, as he does everything he can to save head coach Charlie Strong’s job. He just may be rushing himself into contention for a Heisman Trophy.
