The mad dash for that elusive group of five bid is on and one team that could steal it is Boise State. The road for Boise State is pretty much paved like Western Michigan, SDSU and Houston. Win out and everything will take care of itself. It is possible that Boise State could bypass Western Michigan with a win in the Mountain West title game over San Diego State, despite the loss, Boise State’s strength of schedule could push them over the top against Western Michigan. Up next for the Broncos is UNLV at home and then cap off the regular season against Air Force on the road, that should be a fun one.

It’s possible that LSU can affect the non-Alabama portion of the SEC race over the next few weeks. This coming week they face SEC East foe Florida and that game will have an effect on the SEC East race. The following week, LSU will play Texas A&M in a game with much bigger stakes. The winner of that game most likely earns a spot in the Sugar Bowl since Alabama will be in the College Football Playoff. If LSU can survive those two games, It’s possible Ed Orgeron will have earned the head coaching job at LSU.
