4. Brian Kelly

It won’t be surprising to see Notre Dame give Brian Kelly one more year to get things right before turning somewhere else. They have showed semblance of life over the last few weeks and have picked up a couple of wins after everything appeared headed for a collapse.

At six losses and no room for error, there’s still a real chance that the Fighting Irish miss a bowl game and don’t get in. That could still lead to the program making a change and going in a different direction.

The fight the Irish have shown over the last month is exactly how they need to finish out this season. If they do that, he will likely keep his job and they can put this miserable year behind them and move forward.

If they’re able to knock off Virginia Tech this week, then it should inspire a lot of confidence to keep him and take him off the hot seat. If they get rolled over, then there probably won’t be much change in his current standing.
