Here are five things that need to happen at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event on the WWE Network.

This Sunday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, WWE will air the 30th edition of Survivor Series, which is the second-longest running pay-per-view in the company’s history behind only WrestleMania, and it’s shaping up to be an amazing event.

With the brand split taking place over the summer, it was only a matter of time before we got to a real Monday Night RAW vs Smackdown Live scenario and what better way to settle things than with a load of traditional Survivor Series matches on Sunday night. Not only do we get two great 5-on-5 encounters, one for the men and one for the women, but we also get a 10-on-10 tag team contest as well. Add to that two singles matches that actually have stipulations that could change the course of both shows and we’ve really got something here.

And, of course, there’s the grudge match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg that’s got a lot of people excited.

Here’s a quick look at the 2016 Survivor Series card:

  • Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg
  • Survivor Series Men’s Match: Team RAW (Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins) vs Team Smackdown Live (AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Bray Wyatt)
  • Survivor Series Women’s Match: Team RAW (Charlotte, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks) vs Team Smackdown Live (Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Naomi)
  • Survivor Series Tag Teams Match: Team RAW (Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, The Shining Stars, Cesaro and Sheamus, New Day) vs Team Smackdown Live (Heath Slater & Rhyno, Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos, Tyler Breeze & Fandango)
  • WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Champion The Miz vs. Sami Zayn (If Zayn wins, the Intercontinental Championship goes to Monday Night RAW)
  • WWE Cruiserweight Title Match: Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Kalisto (If Kalisto wins, the Cruiserweight Championship and the entire cruiserweight division goes to Smackdown Live)

There’s a lot of star power in this Survivor Series and there a lot of things that could happen on Sunday night that could lead to a lot of different scenarios moving forward. Here are five things that I think need to happen.

5. Championships need to stay where they are

It was quite obvious when Dolph Ziggler issued an open challenge for his Intercontinental Championship that somebody from Monday Night RAW would answer it, and the fact that it happened to be Sami Zayn only strengthened the Survivor Series card as a whole. Those two would have undoubtedly put on an outstanding match that could have stolen the entire show, something Ziggler certainly has no problem doing.

However, when Ziggler lost the IC belt on Smackdown Live Tuesday night, the match now stands as The Miz vs Sami Zayn unless something happens later in the week that somehow stacks the odds in the favor of Smackdown Live and Ziggler is inserted to make this a triple threat. In any event, the Intercontinental Championship needs to remain on the blue brand.

In the same vein, the WWE Cruiserweight Championship that Brian Kendrick will defend against Kalisto at Survivor Series needs to remain on Monday Night RAW. Period. The cruiserweight division is finally starting to gain some traction with even the most casual fan and it would be a shame to switch things up now. And honestly, RAW needs the cruiserweights. Think of how watered down Monday Nitro would have been back in the day without the cruiserweight division. The red brand has three hours to fill every week and there’s just no room on Smackdown Live right now for them as it’s been the better show since the split and there’s no need to take away one of the bright spots of RAW right now. I mean, wouldn’t it be better just to move Kalisto to Monday nights anyway and put him in a spot where he could really shine? Moving one guy is easier than moving a whole division.

Keep the titles that are actually being defended at Survivor Series exactly where they are.
