3. Pac-12

The only move in the Week 13 conference power rankings is the Pac-12 leaping the ACC, as it has three of the best teams in the nation at the moment.

No. 10 Colorado earned one of the biggest wins of the day with a 38-24 victory over No. 22 Washington State, which entered with an eight-game winning streak. The Buffaloes will be in the Pac-12 title game with a win over Utah next Saturday, and still have a pulse in the playoff race if there’s absolute chaos elsewhere. Mike MacIntyre’s quick rebuilding effort has been nothing short of remarkable and has helped the Pac-12 in a down year for some other traditional powers.

No. 6 Washington quickly shook off its first loss of the season with a 44-18 romp over Arizona State. It’s impossible to tell what the committee will do given the choice between a one-loss Ohio State and conference champion Washington, but the Huskies at least give themselves a great chance at the playoff should they win out.

Saturday wasn’t all great for ranked Pac-12 teams, as No. 12 Utah is out of the running for the Rose Bowl after falling to Oregon in the dying seconds. While a 4-7 mark is obviously terrible for a program with so much success over the past decade, the Ducks have lost to six ranked teams and look to have a promising young quarterback in Justin Herbert.

No. 13 USC earned its seventh straight win with a comfortable victory over rival UCLA and is playing like one of the four best teams in the nation, even if the playoff is a pipe dream after a 1-3 start. Despite also looking awful at times this season, No. 24 Stanford is in line for yet another nine-win season under David Shaw after topping California in the Big Game.

The Pac-12 game of the week will be in Pullman, where Washington and Washington State will square off for the North title in one of the biggest Apple Cups ever. While the conference could get shut out of the playoff, the Pac-12 has shown some great depth and could have six teams in the final top 25 rankings.
