Michigan (+6.5) over Ohio State

Too many points. This is a coin flip game of the highest order and, frankly, Ohio State should be favored. If they were 3.5-point favorites on a neutral field, though, I would tell you to take Michigan, so I’m sharing the same message here in Columbus. I debated giving out the under as well, as both teams deploy strong defenses and questionable offenses, but the underdog in a rivalry game is one of my favorite things, and when you can get a top-five team as nearly a touchdown underdog, it’s usually the right thing to do.

Syracuse (+24.5) over Pittsburgh

There is some inclement weather in the forecast for this one and, even before that came to be, Syracuse was the only play. Pittsburgh is very good and explosive offensively, but this number was jarring in my view. I was expecting something in the 17-to-20 point range and laying this many points with Pittsburgh isn’t going to happen in this space. It might take a backdoor or something to that degree, but Syracuse is frisky and I like this spot.
