3. He will bring players with him

When a head coach comes from another program, he usually brings players with him. That’s likely to be the case with Tom Herman and Texas. If some of his players are able to transfer over, he will have guys he can rely on right away.

There are already rumors about Kyle Allen coming over as a potential graduate transfer. Perhaps Herman could swing for the fences and get stud freshman defensive lineman Ed Oliver to come over eventually.

Even if he’s able to just land Allen, that will be a huge plus for Houston. Herman’s the type of coach that players will follow wherever he goes and it speaks to his character as well. That’s why he’s able to bring in great recruits.

Texas has some good young talent in place already, but they could use some established players that know the system he runs. Getting any Cougars he can to come over and be Longhorns this year or next would be huge.
