2. He’s a proven winner

There have been plenty of instances where the hot coach in college football goes to the big program and can’t succeed. The good news for Texas is that Tom Herman is a proven winner despite not playing in a power five conference.

With a win in the Peach Bowl last year and consistent winning seasons, Herman knows how to win games and so do his teams. The Longhorns are looking to learn how to win games again and Herman will have them winning in a hurry.

If there are any concerns about whether or not he’s been tested, there shouldn’t be at all. He’s beaten teams ranked near the top of the nation on multiple occasions in his career thus far. That’s a requirement at Texas.

He’s going to have a schedule that features plenty of great competition in the Big 12 and a battle with Oklahoma each season. He can put his experience already to great use and help the Longhorns be a proven powerhouse again.
