Defensive Player of the Week: Washington Huskies S Taylor Rapp

The Washington Huskies clobbered the Colorado Buffaloes in the 2016 Pac-12 Championship at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, 41-10. Washington played a great defensive ball game by holding Colorado to 163 yards of total offense.

Buffaloes quarterback Sefo Liufau battled through injuries, but was still picked off three times by the Huskies secondary. Two of Washington’s three Liufau picks came from freshman defensive back Taylor Rapp.

Rapp had two picks for 58 yards and a touchdown. He would also have three tackles in this Pac-12 Championship Game. As only a freshman, Rapp projects to be a future star in the Washington defensive backfield. He is a huge reason that Washington could be even better in 2017.

Washington will play the No. 1 team in the nation in the SEC Champion Alabama Crimson Tide in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta in the first round of the 2017 College Football Playoff. Can Washington upset Alabama?
