The New York Jets won a football game this past weekend in front of 241 people. Yes, you read that right, 241 people, as they were able to come back from an early 14-0 deficit to defeat the San Francisco 49ers. With the win, the Jets may have ruined their chance at drafting in the top three selections, as four wins may be too many to draft that high. Still, this has been a terrible season for a team some believed would be a wildcard team.

Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers was a Heisman finalist this season, and all signs indicate that he will turn pro despite having two years of eligibility left. He has accomplished nearly everything a defensive player can at the collegiate level, and was recently honored with the Paul Hornung Award, given to the most versatile player in college football. He would be a perfect fit for a Jets team lacking an identity, and has the skills to fill numerous voids on their team.

The Jets defense was supposed to lead the team in 2016, but that has certainly not been the case. They look old, and bored on the defensive side of the ball, and some of their leaders have proven to be anything but one. Peppers will likely stick to safety at the next level, but he is great for the pro game because he is a hybrid who can also play linebacker. The New Jersey native also can be a pest in the return game, so look for him to be a fan favorite at MetLife Stadium if he comes home to the Jets.
