The Purdue Boilermakers got on the coaching carousel earlier than most Power 5 schools after new athletic director Mike Bobinski canned head football coach Darrell Hazell mid-season. Bobinski wanted to make a splash hire at head coach and did so in hiring Jeff Brohm away from the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Brohm will bring his younger brother Brian Brohm with him to Purdue to help turn around this down-and-out Big Ten football program. The Brohm Brothers had built a great aerial attack at Western Kentucky the last few years in Bowling Green.

Brohm is 30-10 (19-5) as a head coach. He won back-to-back Conference USA championships in 2015 and 2016 for the Hilltoppers. Brohm took over a program that was coached by Willie Taggart and before him Bobby Petrino.

The Boilermakers now have that head coach that can compete with the elite ones already in the Big Ten West. It may take a few years for the Brohm Brothers to rebuild this Purdue football program, but this offensive system of theirs looks like it will definitely translate right away in West Lafayette.
