Kansas State Wildcats

Last week: 13-4, 2-3 Big 12
Last rank: 5

Things sort of fell apart as the Wildcats blew a lead in a game they lead for the majority of on the road against Texas Tech. The Wildcats went from a statement road win to an 0-2 week rather quickly as they lost to a strong Baylor team coming off of a loss earlier in the week. Baylor pulled away in that game late, but the loss to Texas Tech hurts the most. They had a real chance of showing legitimacy and it just slipped away. They will have two huge chances this week as they go on the road to Oklahoma State, and host the mighty Mountaineers of West Virginia.

TCU Horned Frogs

Last week: 14-3, 3-2 Big 12
Last rank: 9

What Jaime Dixon has done for his Horned Frogs in one season is admirable. We came in skeptical, and while a road win at Texas may not be the most impressive feat this season, it is something TCU never does. They also beat an Iowa State team at home, that some have pegged as a sleeper in the NCAA tournament. Vladimir Brodziansky put up 25 points and 14 rebounds and has size that Dixon rarely had in his days coaching at Pitt. This team may not be a contender yet, but the arrow is pointing up. A road trip to Texas Tech and a home date with Baylor should be very telling as to where they are this week.
