High Value PG

Austin Rivers-Los Angeles Clippers (5,200): Rivers will likely get the biggest fantasy bump from CP3’s injury since he’ll take over as the team’s top PG. Rivers was already starting in the team’s recent three-guard look and has produced over 25 fantasy points in four of his last six games. He had 16-2-6 for 29 in the Clippers last game against OKC, and he’ll have a chance for much more usage over the next few weeks with Paul out.

Tony Parker-San Antonio Spurs (5,000): If you don’t trust either Clippers PG tonight, there are a few other cheap veteran options worth a look. Parker gets a good matchup against the Nuggets who he had 38.25 fantasy points against earlier this month. In that game he had 21-3-9 in just 24 minutes. He has been playing well since although he hasn’t gotten back to that level and has posted over 20 fantasy points in each of his last four games. ∗∗∗

Raymond Felton-Los Angeles Clippers (4,800): Felton also benefits from Paul’s absence and will pick up some extra minutes along with Rivers. Felton has posted at least 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games and five of his last seven, but he doesn’t have quite the ceiling that Rivers has. I think Felton is a safer play since he produced in more categories, but Rivers has a higher ceiling since he can go off with big points on any night. Who gets more playing time and usage will definitely be important to watch since the Clippers will be working with these two PG’s for the next several weeks.

Jameer Nelson-Denver Nuggets (3,500): If you have to go ultra-cheap and spend under 4K, Nelson is a good play to consider since he is picking up extra playing time with Gary Harris sidelined. Nelson had posted over 21 fantasy points in three straight before a major letdown on the second night of a back-to-back on Tuesday in LA. He only had 2-1-4 for 9.75 fantasy points in that game, but should bounce back to better productivity tonight. He’s the best super-cheap play on the board tonight even though he does come with definite risk.
