Matt Ryan

Quarterback, Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan won the battle against a few of his postseason demons, dominating the Seattle Seahawks at home. Not only did he complete 70.3 percent of his passes, which has become the norm for him, he threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Even though the Seahawks clearly missed Earl Thomas, Ryan carved off a very good Seahawks defense. And he’ll be facing a very vulnerable Packers defense in the NFC Championship.

Ryan’s next trial in the NFL playoffs will be his toughest one yet. He’s gotten past Russell Wilson for the second time. Now Ryan must outdo arguably this generation’s second greatest quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers are coming off a wild win over the Dallas Cowboys. If they can handle such a hostile environment, the Falcons should be a little bit worried.

The game will likely come down to which quarterback makes more plays. Ryan will be going against Rodgers, who can make throws no one else can while always being a threat to scramble. Matty Ice has been huge this season for Atlanta. Hopefully for his sake, Ryan has at least one final excellent performance up his sleeve because he will need one to take down Rodgers.
