Andrew Thomas

Offensive Tackle, Pace Academy (Atlanta)

While the interior of the offensive line was problematic, tackle was an absolute nightmare for Smart in his first year on the job. Smart is giving Pittman carte blanche to rebuild Georgia’s offensive line. One of the guys Georgia garnered a commitment from this summer was offensive tackle Andrew Thomas from prestigious Pace Academy in Atlanta.

Thomas is the No. 4 player from the Peach State, the No. 9 offensive tackle, and the No. 42 player nationally. 247Sports has him as a four-star recruit with a 0.9784 grade. Since committing to Georgia in July, Thomas has never wavered and will almost certainly enroll at Georgia this summer.

Thomas played for the East team in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. He’s going to sign with Georgia, but not seeing a commitment this firm early enroll is a tad concerning. One the fax comes in, Pittman and Smart can exhale on getting the elite tackle from Pace.

D'Andre Swift

Running Back, St. Joseph's (Philadelphia)

Georgia has long been a powerhouse in college football at the running back position. Though will both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel for their senior seasons in 2017, the Bulldogs have landed an elite tailback talent in D’Andre Swift from Philadelphia.

Swift is the No. 1 player from Pennsylvania, the No. 4 running back, and the No. 33 player nationally. 247Sports has Swift as a four-star recruit with a 0.9828 grade. Swift committed to Georgia on September 1st and his allegiance to the Bulldogs has not wavered.

His primary recruiter was running backs coach Dell McGee and offensive coordinator Jim Chaney quickly followed suit. Expect Swift to sign with the Dawgs on February 1. However, Smart and company will have to fend off schools like Florida State and especially Penn State to keep their four-star running back on his way to Athens this summer.
