Aubrey Solomon

Defensive Tackle, Lee County (Leesburg, GA)

Georgia will end up with a top-five recruiting class barring anything catastrophic. Smart and his staff proactively landed most of the recruits it wanted well before National Signing Day. That being said, there is one player they are making a push to land: defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon from Lee County.

Solomon is the No. 2 defensive tackle, the No. 3 player from Georgia, and the No. 25 player nationally. 247Sports has him as a five-star recruit with a grade of 0.9869. Georgia is one of three schools that will garner his commitment on National Signing Day: Alabama, Georgia and Michigan.

Linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer and Rocker were his leading recruiters. Georgia has done a great job of keeping its in-state talent this recruiting cycle. However, it isn’t overly likely Solomon will commit to the team. Alabama and Michigan lead, but Smart’s team makes a compelling case as the team in third place to land Solomon’s commitment.

Isaiah Wilson

Offensive Tackle, Poly Prep (Brooklyn)

There are two five-star players currently committed to Georgia: safety Richard LeCounte III, who is one of six early enrollees in Athens, and offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson from Brooklyn. LeCounte has been a primary recruiter for this class. He committed back in December 2015.

Wilson surprisingly committed to the team on December 16 after his visit on December 9. He is the No. 1 player from New York, the No. 5 offensive tackle, and the No. 16 player overall. 247Sports has Wilson as a five-star recruit with a 0.9904 grade.

Like with Thomas, Wilson was a primary target for Pittman to rebuild his offensive line. The Daqgs beat out Alabama, Michigan, and Rutgers to land Wilson’s commitment. The possibility of early playing time at a blue-blood for an elite offensive line coach is too good to pass up. The Bulldogs will hope that Wilson’s fax comes in. Losing him would hurt their recruiting rankings considerably. Not sure he wavers in the final days leaning up to National Signing Day 2017.
