High Salary PG

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (8,600): I’m taking a pass on the biggest names on the PG board tonight since Westbrook and Wall both have to do so much to be worth their total salary. Westbrook could end up with too much Kawhi for me to be totally comfortable in that matchup while Wall has been held under 40 fantasy points in two of his last four games. Enough about who I’m not picking, the top PG I like is Kyle Lowry. He’s coming into tonight’s game hot after 33-5-8 (points-rebounds-assists) for 54.25 fantasy points on Sunday against Orlando. He has at least 47 fantasy points in each of his last three games and at least 40 fantasy points in eight of his last 13. Since he comes much cheaper than the top names, Lowry allows for more flexible spending elsewhere and is in a great matchup against the Pelicans who have struggled with PG defense all season.

Kemba Walker-Charlotte Hornets (7,900): The Hornets and Blazers will be a fun game to watch tonight on NBATV with plenty of good guard play. Walker had 23-2-5 for 40.5 fantasy points when the Blazers and Hornets met in Charlotte two weeks ago, but has been playing even better in his six games since then. He has at least 44 fantasy points in four of his six games since including each of his last three highlighted by a 31-10-5 game in New York against the Knicks.

Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (7,700): Another PG who is settling in to a big role over his last few games is Jrue Holiday of the Pelicans. He has put back-to-back games over 50 fantasy points and has at least that many in three of his last four. All his big games have come at home, though, and tonight he’s on the road in a tough matchup with Lowry and the Raptors. His last two road games were pretty ugly resulting in only 23 and 21.75 fantasy points as he shot a combined 4-16. His game has come a long way since then, but there is still bust potential making him high-risk, high-reward.
