If the Texans are to look at the defensive side of the ball at all, it probably would be safety. Quintin Demps is a free agent this year, and Eddie Pleasant is a free agent next season. But let’s face it, neither of those is the most inspiring names as it is.

Church, however, may be an under the radar pick up. He dealt with some injury in 2016, so the lights are not too bright on him. However, when he is on the field, he is one of the most stable safeties in the NFL.

The big name free agent safeties are Eric Berry and Tony Jefferson. So while everyone is fussing and looking for space to sign those players, the Texans could sneak in, get Church at a decent price, and walk away with one of the most complete defenses in the NFL.

Church is great because he can defend the pass well, but can also step in and defend the run in the box. At 29 years old, he is in the heart of his prime and can fit right into an already experienced defense.
