Caleb Brantley

DL, Florida

The Kansas City Chiefs were the champions of the AFC West this past season, as they played some of the more consistent football in the conference. While the Raiders were out in front of them for most of the year, the Chiefs were able to pull out the title in Week 17, thanks to a Raiders loss to Denver. The Chiefs actually beat Oakland twice this past season, so an AFC West title was well deserved.

As the Chiefs inch towards April’s draft, they have to be concerned with their defensive line. Dontari Poe may be too expensive to keep, which means they may have to draft a defensive lineman in the first round. Caleb Brantley of the Florida Gators is a good looking defensive tackle, and would fit perfectly into the Chiefs defensive schemes moving forward.

The Chiefs have a ton of talent, and there is no reason to not expect them to repeat in the AFC West next season. If one of the top quarterbacks fall to them at No. 27, they have to take a look at that position, but it is looking like that might not be the case. Brantley would fill a need not only at the position, but in cap space, enabling them to lock up safety Eric Berry to a long-term deal.
